The Island of Oahu is the center of Hawaii. In fact Oahu means “The Gathering Place” and dates back to when the island was the common meeting place for all of Hawaii’s kings.
Today, Oahu is still the gathering place. It is the business, cultural and political center of the islands. Many of the sights and attractions that Hawaii is famous for are found on Oahu.
All four points of the compass on Oahu bring unique Hawaiian beauty and experiences. On the west or Leeward side of Oahu are sun-drenched fields of Pineapple. To the East or Windward Side are white sand beaches and lush tropical rain forests. the North Shore of Oahu is famous for its monster waves in the winter. The south is home to the world famous Diamond Head and Waikiki Beach.
